عُقد الاجتماع العاشر للجنة الدولية المشتركة للحوار اللاهوتي بين الكنيستين الكاثوليكية والأرثوذكسية من 8-14 تشرين الأول في مدينة رافينا المميزة بمعالمها الفنية والتاريخية في إيطاليا.

عملت اللجنة تحت إشراف رئيسيها الكاردينال Walter Kasper من الكنيسة الكاثوليكية والمتروبوليت John of Pergamon من الكنيسة الأرثوذكسية.

كان محور عمل اللجنة موضوع "النتائج الايكليزيولوجية الكنائسية والقانونية لطبيعة الكنيسة المقدسة: المشاركة الكنيسة، المجمعية والسلطة في الكنيسة"، وقد كانت اللجنة بدأت بدراسة هذا الموضوع في جلستها السابقة في بلغراد، 18-25 أيلول 2006 وفي هذا اللقاء أكملت هذه الدراسة، كما صُدِّقت وثيقة اتفاق مشتركة، تعرض قاعدة متينة لعمل اللجنة المستقبلي.

مثّل الأرشمندريت ديميتريوس شربك البطريركية الأنطاكية في اجتماع اللجنة المشتركة هذا.

ساد الاجتماع روح الصداقة والتعاون الوثيق. كما عبّر أعضاء اللجنة عن تقديرهم لضيافة مطرانية رافينا واثقين أن عمل الحوار سيستمر بصلوات المؤمنين.

THE MEETING OF JOINT INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE THEOLOGICAL DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE ORTHODOX CHURCH  

The tenth meeting of the joint International Commission for the Theological Dialogue between the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church took place from 8 – 14 October 2007 in Ravenna, Italy, a city marked by its historical and artistic monuments many from the Byzantine era  

The commission worked under the direction of the two co-presidents, Cardinal Walter Kasper -Roman Catholic Church- and Metropolitan John of Pergamon -Orthodox Church  

The Commission has been working on the theme of “The Ecclesiological and Canonical Consequences of the Sacramental Nature of the Church: Ecclesial Communion, Conciliarity and Authority in the Church”. This study had already begun in the previous session in Belgrade, from 18 – 25 September 2006. At this meeting this study has been completed and an agreed common document was approved. The document offers a solid basis for the future work of the commission  

The Archimandrite Dimitrios Sharbak represented the Antiochian Church in the meeting of the Joint Commission  

The meeting was marked by a spirit of friendship and trustful collaboration. The members of the Commission greatly appreciated the generous hospitality of the Archdiocese of Ravenna, and they strongly commend the continuing work of the dialogue to the prayers of the faithful
